Choi Joon-Young

Abstract
This study explored directions on how for medical record administrator as health information managers to paly their role, and presented how for health information managers to paly their role, using hospital information system at universities. With these situations as the background, this study attempted to present the following improvement plans for college education so that medical record administrators as health information managers may contribute to medical development.
First, education on the university information system should be able to not only provide training for hospital administration tasks, but also help learners apprend data flow of the hospital information system, collect/analyze data that occur, and acquire data management techniques that can generate new information. Second, the national examination of medical record administrators should be able to test the ability of statistical knowledge and data management techniques for analysis on medical big data. Third, since the hospital information system has a wide range of utilization scope according to sizes of medical institutes, data collected and ways to collect them differ, if universities that train medical record administrators prepare/present criteria for analysis of medical big data, medical record administrators will be able to exercise their ability of utilizing big data, not influenced by sizes & tasks of medical institutes.
